Job Summary:
As the Project Accountant on the Finance team, your focus will be on managing project financials, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting project managers with financial insights and strategy. You'll be responsible for strategic analysis over capital and major projects, developing and monitoring project budgets, preparing financial reports, and conducting detailed financial analysis. Your attention to detail and expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of our company and contributing to our mission of clean energy transformation.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the financial performance of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and review project cost reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Work with the Project Management, Engineering and Operations teams to track project expenses, ensuring all costs, including capitalized labor, are allocated correctly and within budget.
- Collaborate with other groups to identify opportunities to benefit from government grants and other incentives to drive increased project economics.
- Generate regular financial reports for project managers and senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Support in the due diligence of capital and major projects for acquisition targets.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop financial forecasts and budgets, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure all project-related financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain project accounting records in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure financial alignment and support project goals.
- Provide training and guidance to project teams on financial processes and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and subcontractors regarding project financial matters.
- Drive professional growth and development by setting and achieving clear objectives in alignment with organizational goals.

- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by your manager.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in project accounting preferably within the renewable energy space.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Project costing, procurement, and vendor management experience a benefit.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and project accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
