Position Overview:
As the Training Coordinator at Relevate Power, you'll play a vital role in setting up and optimizing our new control room for efficient hydropower operations. You'll be responsible for developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and providing comprehensive training to ensure our control room operatives are well-prepared to handle their roles effectively and safely. This position requires coordination with various teams, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding industry standards and public safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement SOPs for the operation of the new control room facility, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the Control Room Manager and field teams to tailor SOPs to the specific needs of our hydropower plant operations.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for control room operatives, covering equipment operation, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate training schedules and certifications to ensure all operatives are adequately prepared for their roles.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to control room operatives, addressing any questions or concerns related to procedures or equipment operation.
- Conduct regular evaluations and assessments to identify areas for improvement and update training materials accordingly.
- Stay current with industry developments and regulatory changes, adjusting training programs as needed to maintain compliance.
- Collaborate with HR to onboard new control room staff and integrate them into the training program effectively.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety protocols and emergency response procedures for the control room.
- Assist in training field operations staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in control room management and operations, preferably in the renewable energy sector with a focus on hydropower.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing SOPs and delivering training programs in high-pressure control room environments.
- Strong understanding of remote operations within the power industry, with specific experience in hydropower operations preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to foster a positive team culture and promote safety and efficiency.
- Availability for 24/7 on-call support and willingness to be on-site during emergencies or critical operational periods.
- Thorough knowledge of regulations and public safety procedures relevant to hydropower operations.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% - 20% of the time to various sites throughout the US.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing standard operating procedures.
