Mechanical Designer (Plumbing)
This organization has been around for over 30 years, working in multiple facets within the plumbing and HVAC space. This has grown the business to work across building and construction related to these areas of expertise, but also expanded the business to include other building compliant features related to these areas.
This individual will be responsible for taking the scope of a project and being able to develop a design/drawing related to the needs of the plumbing and HVAC for large commercial projects. This individual will work with the Project Manager, to gather the details, as well as be responsible for evaluating some of the aspects and verifying all code is adhered to within the design/drawing for the project.
This organization is a very team focused group, if there are issues the whole team is responsible for understanding and supporting each other with ideas and solutions. This individual’s main duty is the drawing and design for the project, but will be pulled in to help solve-problems as they arise on job sites or prior.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop daily work routines independently, while working in a team environment
- Review contract documents with the project team and build out the construction design
- Evaluate and stay up to date on all codes; verify accuracy related to standards in the industry for design purposes
- Experience utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, and Manual J
- Prepare engineering drawings that detail the plans and specifications for a project
- Strong ability to make independent judgements daily on specific designs and projects
- Point person to streaming the design on a project, communicating cross-functionally across the organization(s)
- Obtain necessary legal requirements and documents for approval of projects; to execute on timeline
- Responsible for all documentation and records related to project activity and communication with team
- Develop mathematical formulas for job specifications for system operations
- Examine and schedule special plumbing & HVAC equipment for project sites
- Develop a team player mentality, related to solving and resolving design related issues for installation and any operation deficiencies identified
- Attend and support project meetings as required
- Manage to the project schedule and timeline; verifying completion of design meeting specifications as identified

Education and Experience:
- 5 Years experience in plumbing design and engineering
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
- 5 Years of experience and/or certification in CAD program/AutoCad
- Some experience Mechanical Engineering
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
