We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience navigating complex legal and regulatory matters within the financial services sector and will play a key role in supporting business growth, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
About the Role :
Legal Advisory & Leadership :
Provide comprehensive legal counsel to internal stakeholders, including senior management, on a broad range of legal issues related to corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management .
Assist in shaping legal strategy and ensuring alignment with business objectives while mitigating legal risk.
Asset Management & Insurance Compliance :
Advise on regulatory compliance within the asset management and insurance sectors, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, including SEC regulations, financial services legislation, and insurance law .
Provide legal insight on investment strategies, insurance products, and capital markets transactions.
Corporate Governance & Risk Management :
Support corporate governance initiatives , ensuring adherence to best practices in compliance and ethical standards.
Assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies to safeguard the organization’s interests.
M&A and Strategic Transactions :
Provide legal support in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
Conduct due diligence, contract negotiation, and risk assessments for business transactions.
Contract Negotiation & Management :
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal agreements, including investment management agreements, insurance policies, reinsurance contracts, and strategic partnerships .
External & Regulatory Engagement :
Interface with regulatory bodies, external counsel, and industry groups to ensure compliance with evolving legal and regulatory landscapes.
Provide legal insight on industry developments impacting the organization.
Qualifications :
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and a license to practice law.
8 years of legal experience , with significant exposure to asset management and insurance sectors .
Strong background in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and financial services .
