The Role:
The Vendor Management Lead will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the company's vendor management program. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong organizational and relationship management skills to ensure visibility and transparency into vendor management workflows and vendor risk levels. The ideal candidate will have experience in using ServiceNow as the system of record for contract and vendor management and possess a keen understanding of best practices in vendor oversight, performance management, ongoing monitoring, and risk identification and mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the vendor management program by managing the end-to-end lifecycle of vendor relationships, from initial due diligence and onboarding through performance and risk monitoring and contract renewal/termination
- Act as the primary point of contact between internal teams and external vendors, ensuring effective communication, issue resolution, and fostering long-term partnerships
- Utilize ServiceNow to maintain an up-to-date and accurate system of record for all vendor-related information, including contracts, risk assessments, and any relevant metrics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Credit/Risk, Product, Marketing, HR, Finance, Compliance, Audit, etc.) to ensure vendor engagements are aligned with company objectives and meet regulatory requirements
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure vendor performance and drive continuous improvement efforts
- Conduct regular vendor reviews, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with relevant company policies, privacy and security standards/obligations, regulatory requirements, and performance standards
- Identify and mitigate vendor-related risks by monitoring vendor performance and risk and addressing any issues or potential disruptions.
- Develop and implement best practices and standardized processes for vendor management across the organization
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the company's vendor management practices remain compliant and competitive
- Develop, refine and implement relevant policies, procedures, and documentation concerning the company’s third-party risk management practices and the vendor management program
- Identify opportunities to streamline, simplify, and automate vendor and contract management workflows using the ServiceNow system
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on vendor management policies, procedures, and tools
- Lead or contribute to other projects and matters as assigned
Experience and Education
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in overseeing the vendor management and third-party risk management function of an organization, preferably at a fintech or financial institution
- Strong experience with using ServiceNow (or similar systems) as the system of record for contract and vendor management
- Preferred:
- Experience with financial technology platforms or services
- Certification(s) in vendor management or third-party risk management (e.g., CVMP, CRVPM, CTPRP, etc.)
- Familiarity with relevant privacy laws and industry standards (e.g., CCPA, GLBA, FCRA, PCI-DSS, etc.)
