Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and nurturing After Care Teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, patient, and attentive, providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children during the late afternoon hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and Engage: Ensure the safety and well-being of children during afternoon care while facilitating meaningful activities
- Afternoon Activities: Lead age-appropriate activities, such as storytime, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and quiet time
- Classroom Environment: Maintain a calm, organized, and positive environment conducive to learning and relaxation at the end of the day
- Health & Safety: Monitor children to ensure a safe environment, including appropriate cleanup and hygiene practices
- Snack Time: Distribute snacks as needed and promote good eating habits
- Communication: Collaborate with lead teachers and communicate any pertinent information to families when necessary
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool or childcare setting
- Enthusiastic, compassionate, and dependable with strong classroom management skills
- Knowledge of Jewish values and traditions is a plus but not required
- Ability to engage children in fun and age-appropriate activities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM
