Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School seeks an experienced, innovative, and energetic preschool substitute educator to support our Early Childhood program. Qualified candidates should be comfortable working with children between the ages of three and five years old.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in teaching, guiding, inspiring, and nurturing children in the early childhood program
- Assist in differentiating instruction for a wide range of students’ abilities and interests
- Support the Lead Teacher(s) in the documentation of student learning and growth throughout the school year
- Assist with the preparation and/or organization of teaching materials
- Collaborate with Lead Teacher, Specials Teachers, and other Associate Teachers
- Supervise students throughout the day
- Speak professionally and respectfully with parents and caregivers
Education and Experience:
- College degree or currently in college
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administration to support and extend the objectives of the curriculum
- Appreciation of a diverse, pluralistic Jewish community
- Experience providing a nurturing, creative, and inclusive environment for students and to create a strong classroom community
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40 pound child
- Often required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or squat
- Awareness of the cognitive, social, and emotional issues of early childhood age students
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally
