Quality Control Specialist β Cultivation Facility
Position Overview
The Quality Control (QC) Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all cannabis products meet company standards and regulatory compliance before reaching consumers. This role involves monitoring cultivation and processing operations, conducting inspections, and documenting quality metrics to uphold consistency, safety, and efficacy. The QC Specialist will work closely with cultivation, processing, and compliance teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and testing of cannabis plants, harvested material, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal and state regulatory standards.
- Monitor cultivation, drying, curing, trimming, and packaging processes to identify deviations from SOPs.
- Maintain detailed records of quality assessments, lab results, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with cultivation and processing teams to address and correct quality issues.
- Assist in developing and implementing quality control protocols and SOPs.
- Ensure all products meet state-mandated testing requirements for potency, contaminants, and microbial levels.
- Conduct internal training on quality and compliance best practices.
Qualifications
- Experience in quality control, quality assurance, or compliance in a regulated industry (cannabis, food production, pharmaceuticals, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of cannabis cultivation and processing methods.
- Familiarity with state and local cannabis regulations regarding testing and quality requirements.
- Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, inventory tracking systems, and compliance software.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a cannabis cultivation or manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles.
- Experience with seed-to-sale tracking systems such as Metrc.
