What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vacation Home Rental Quality Assurance Inspector/Maintenance Technician/VHR Trash Collector position at Elevated Tahoe Properties?
Position Summary:
At Elevated Tahoe Properties, we take pride in offering exceptional vacation rental experiences — and our Quality Assurance Inspectors play a critical role in delivering on that promise. As a Vacation Home Rental Quality Assurance Inspector/ Maintenance Technician / VHR Waste Collector, you'll be the final line of defense before a guest arrives, ensuring each property is clean, safe, stocked, and guest-ready.
Using our advanced property management app (Breezeway), your day starts with scheduled property inspections. You’ll thoroughly assess cleanliness, functionality, and readiness — handling light maintenance tasks and cleanliness touch-ups when necessary, and coordinating with cleaning or maintenance teams for larger issues. You'll also help with garbage removal/collection, so having a truck is mandatory.
In addition to inspections and maintenance, you’ll monitor supplies and linens, restock as needed, and ensure lost items are properly reported and shipped. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Perform garbage collection and removal at properties as needed (a truck is required).
- Conduct thorough property inspections and identify cleanliness, maintenance, and safety issues.
- Resolve minor maintenance or cleaning concerns independently (e.g., lightbulb changes, batteries, WiFi/TV troubleshooting).
- Coordinate larger issues with cleaning and maintenance teams.
- Accurately report findings through our app (Breezeway), including photos and detailed notes.
- Transport linens, amenities, and supplies to and from properties.
- Track and restock inventory such as toiletries, kitchen supplies, and linens.
- Collect and ship lost & found items.
- Communicate with teammates (VA team, cleaning vendors, maintenance staff, Director of Operations) to maintain smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Must own a truck or a vehicle capable of removing excessive garbage and transporting items like small propane tanks to and from properties.
- Available to work weekends (mandatory).
- Local to the area, with familiarity with local roads and resources.
- Valid driver’s license
- Comfortable using mobile apps and submitting reports with photos.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Basic maintenance knowledge and willingness to perform light repair tasks.
- Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, kneeling, etc.).
- Must maintain your own active vehicle insurance.
Bonus/Benefit Details:
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor Position. Two weeks (10 days) paid time off are included with a 1 year minimum commitment. Additional unpaid time off can also be granted as long as we have advanced notice so we can make sure we have coverage.
