Job Summary:
The Certified Associate Counselor – Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD) provides counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. They conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, facilitate individual and group therapy, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support clients in recovery. The counselor ensures compliance with ethical and legal standards while promoting a safe and supportive environment for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake assessments, evaluate substance use history, and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling for clients with substance use disorders.
- Educate clients on addiction, coping strategies, and relapse prevention techniques.
- Maintain accurate client records and document progress in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and community resources for comprehensive client support.
- Monitor and assess clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Facilitate referrals to higher levels of care when needed.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
- Participate in professional development and continuing education to maintain certification.
