The Frances Jacobson Early Childhood Center (FJECC) at Temple Israel, named one of "The Hub's Top Preschools," has an immediate opening for a caring and nurturing Assistant Teacher (Toddler). We are a Jewish early childhood program within a large Reform Congregation and serve a diverse community of students ages 20 months to 5 years old. We are a Reggio-inspired, constructivist program which joyously integrates quality Jewish and secular education.

Responsibilities:
Working on a team (2 lead teachers and an assistant teacher) you will:- Care for the physical and emotional well-being of 9-16 children in your class, including planning curriculum based on each individual child's and the full class' interests and emerging interests.
- Help maintain a safe and aesthetically-pleasing indoor and outdoor environment that allows children to explore, play and create.
- Provide documentation of what the class is learning, through displays in the classroom and school and via our online app, Kaymbu.
- Communicate effectively with your team, with families, other teachers, and the school administration.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree. Background in early childhood education and 1-3 years’ experience in early education preferred.
- Ability to work well as a member of a team, ask for help, accept feedback, and offer your own creative ideas.
- Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care's "Strong Start" certification within 90 days of employment.
- Sense of humor and appreciation of the developmental joys of young children.
- Ability to actively interact with children including kneeling, bending, running and sitting on the floor and in small chairs.
