What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Teacher/ELC Director position at ElevatEd?
TORAH ACADEMY EARLY LEARNING CENTER seeks a talented, Lead Teacher/Director who is kind, respectful, and responsible. A superb
TA Team player filled with positive energy, creativity, excellent character and inspiring leadership.
The IDEAL candidate has the following qualifications:
- She is knowledgeable in best practices of EC education and child development. She sees each child as a precious individual and tunes in to his/her unique needs.
- She is a conscientious role model for collaboration and professional growth of the Torah Academy ELC Team and provides guidance and feedback.
- She can synthesize both Judaic knowledge with all EC educational standards: Academic, motoric, social-emotional, language acquisition, etc., and accommodate each child’s learning needs.
- She is invested in growing the program and engaging more families to jumpstart their children's bright Jewish future by introducing them to their heritage through Jewish education, beginning in their early years.
- She will learn with us and join the process for EC accreditations and help us follow through on achieving said recognition (e.g. DCFS, NAEYC).
- It would be a real plus if she speaks/understands Hebrew (and/or Russian and Spanish, too! Fluency in English is a must ;)
- She would create a daily communication channel for teachers and parents, a weekly newsletter, and adult/kid friendly programs for families to feel a sense of belonging in a vibrant, value driven community.
- Working toward achieving Director credentials for DCFS certified director qualification, have a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, and/or at least some years of experience as a lead teacher or working with an exceptional teacher, very well versed in Reggio, PBL and an overall progressive approach to ECE. Higher education and training opportunities available.
- School hours: Monday- Thurs, 8am-4pm (8:15-3:45 for children) and Friday, 8:15-1:00. Salary will reflect experience and education. Hours may be partial/flexible as per the TA team.
