JOB SUMMARY :
The Area Vice President (AVP) of Operations is responsible for the clinical and operational oversight of all assigned Parent and Branch locations to include providing the highest quality care for hospice patients and their families, financial achievement of established goals, strategic initiatives for growth, and clinical and regulatory compliance. They will collaborate regularly and closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) in the overall management, policies, procedures, and controls necessary to ensure effective and efficient operations of their assigned programs and to establish, implement and evaluate goals and objectives for hospice services that meet and promote the highest quality of care and contribute to the total organization and philosophy.
The AVP will provide effective and inspiring leadership, mentorship, and delegation to strengthen performance, share best practices, and drive accountability. They will lead an effective team of high-performing leadership and team members to the next level by further developing and implementing effective recruitment, training, disciplinary, retention, and succession strategies.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS :

- Ensures the delivery of excellent customer service and clinical care to internal and external customers.
- Develops and implements strategic plans that meet established business goals and objectives created in partnership with the Board of Directors.
- Manages the planning, budgeting, and monitoring of business operations to meet / exceed established goals and secure financial stability.
- Recruits and develops a team of senior leaders to manage critical business functions.
- Ensures commitment and compliance with applicable laws and regulations across the Organization.
- Ensures personnel stay current with local, state, and national clinical information, practices, regulations, issues, and trends.
- Implements operational policies and procedures to accomplish identified outcomes.
- Evaluates hospice services and personnel using measurable actionable outcomes and objectives.
- Ensures staff development including orientation, in-service, continuing education, competency testing, and quality assessment performance improvement
- Establishes a structure and systems that ensure interdisciplinary care is provided.
- Maintains adequate and appropriate staffing.
- Develops positive relationships with internal and external customers, key stakeholders, including shareholders and government agencies.
- Proactively addresses challenges in the internal and external environment to protect business interests.
- Develops and maintains a culture of support to equip personnel in achieving their discipline-specific goals.
- Coordinates with other departments, services, and senior management, as appropriate
- Performs other duties as assigned.
