Job Overview:
Elevé Arts Academy is a non-competitive dance studio looking for well trained dance educators to join our team! We are in need of part time teachers to work 4 - 10 hours per week starting in June 2025. Looking for teachers in a variety of genres, including: Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Children's Creative Movement, Musical Theater, Acro, and Hip Hop.
Our teachers are expected to uphold the Elevé brand; creating an uplifting environment to teach technical and creative dance skills. At Elevé, dancers are taught the importance of excellence over perfection, how to positively approach challenges, and how to find and share their dance “voice”. Costumes, choreography, and music are always modest and age appropriate, keeping the focus on uplifting movement.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct dance classes for students of different age groups and skill levels with proper dance terminology and concepts
- Uphold the Elevé brand by using age appropriate movement, music, and language
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their skills
- Maintain a safe, uplifting, and supportive learning environment for all students
- Create lesson plans based around the established Elevé curriculum
- Choreograph, choose costumes and music, and help with the production for studio performancesCollaborate with other instructors and staff members to plan and execute studio eventsStay updated on current trends and developments in the dance industry with frequent professional development.
- Communicate effectively to parents and potential clients in between classes and during events
Experience:
- A degree in Dance/Dance Education or 5 years of technical teaching experience is preferred.
- Excellent technical training and teaching experience in Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Musical Theater, Acro, Creative Movement, and/or Mommy and Me style classes.
- Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate dance techniques to students
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
- Knowledge of other theater arts, music, and stage production is also helpful
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
