Eleven Recruiting is hiring for a Machine Shop Lead for one of our largest aerospace clients sitting onsite in Simi Valley, CA. This role is responsible for managing the machine shop operations, overseeing a team of machinists and technicians to ensure efficient, high-quality production. This role involves coordinating complex machining processes, maintaining equipment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

- Oversee all machine shop operations, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring the production cycle to ensure timely completion of machining tasks while meeting quality standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of machinists and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Provide technical guidance on machining techniques and best practices.
- Monitor CNC machines and other machining tools for proper operation. Coordinate with maintenance teams to perform regular upkeep and repairs, minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment efficiency.
- Ensure all machining work meets company and customer specifications by conducting regular inspections and quality checks. Implement corrective actions when necessary to address non-conformities.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to optimize machining processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Manage the allocation of resources, including materials and labor, to ensure optimal production flow. Maintain inventory levels of machining tools and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of production times, quantities, and equipment maintenance. Prepare reports on machine shop performance and recommend improvements.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in machining or manufacturing preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a machine shop environment, with hands-on experience in machining operations, CNC programming, and equipment maintenance.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of machining processes, CNC machines, and tooling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for team coordination and process documentation.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.
