What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Artist position at Eleventh Hour Games?
What is your role?
As a Technical Artist for Eleventh Hour Games, you sit at the intersection between art and programming. In this role you will be responsible for creating and maintaining VFX, shaders, tooling, and process improvements to support Last Epoch. You must be comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced environment. You must possess strong communication skills and be self-directed. The ideal candidate craves ownership and impact as well as seeks to elevate their team.
Qualifications:
- 3 years experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of shaders
- Strong coding skills, specifically C#
- Experience working with profiler tools to optimize runtime performance
- Experience documenting, maintaining, and presenting art tools and scripts
- Experience working with artists to identify and solve technical issues
Pluses:
- Knowledge of Unity’s rendering pipeline and profiling tools
- Experience with the Unity engine and knowledge of its core systems
- Familiarity with HLSL and ShaderLab
- Full release cycle experience
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and implement optimizations for Last Epoch's rendering performance
- Establish best practices for art pipelines and workflows
- Document, maintain, and present art tools and scripts
- Identify and solve art pipeline tool inefficiencies and propose new tool ideas
- Assist creators in realizing their vision
- Work with engineering to develop new technologies
- Serve as a buffer between programming and art to make sure all artists understand the guidance from engineering and that all guidelines and optimization methods are followed
- Develop custom workflows using scripts and coded tools solutions
- Align artists around technical standards for asset creation
