Position summary :
The leader of this organization will be responsible for a team of scientists researching next generation therapies for autoimmune patients, with a focus on T cell biology. Responsibilities will include guiding the team to deliver candidate molecules across different modalities and supervising the immunology in vivo pharmacology team. In addition, you will shape the T cell immunology portfolio strategy, partner with External Innovation and Business Development teams, and mentor the next generation of scientific and project leaders.
Roles and Responsibilities of the position :
- Supervise a team of scientists focused on T cell biology and in vivo pharmacology, fostering teamwork, scientific rigor, innovation, and a culture of high cadence scientific excellence across a portfolio of complex research programs.
- Ensure the team delivers strong data packages to facilitate informed decisions on candidate molecules. Make sure the project team is focusing on a target product profile that aligns with the Immunology strategy. Provide scientific guidance throughout development of the project.
- Ensure in vivo pharmacology team activities and resources (internal and external) are executed and aligned with Immunology priorities.
- Actively mentor the next generation of project leaders.
- Responsible for team contributions to research study reports, manuscripts for publication, and presentations for scientific conferences.
- Collaborate with Immunology research and clinical leaders to develop and refine strategies for T cell therapies.
- Support the external innovation and business development (BD) strategy with a focus on T cells, providing recommendations to enhance our immunology portfolio. Engage in diligence activities that inform our decisions related to BD initiatives.
- Oversee external research collaborations relevant to the T cell Immunology portfolio. Ensure teams collaborate effectively and meet objectives that align with Immunology strategy.
- Collaborate with team members to create and track strong, personal development plans that match employee goals and align with immunology's strategy and business needs.
