What You’ll Be Doing
The Tech at Lilly MQ PA Integration team is responsible for software platforms used in Lilly’s manufacturing facilities around the world. The goal of the PA Integration team is to: 1) own product lifecycle management of integrated software platforms, including design and architecture of next-gen platforms, that maintain alignment with existing strategies and processes; 2) provide global support to existing and new facilities with a focus on accelerating installation and startup of new production lines; 3) integrate Network cross-functional agendas; 4) manage an effective Parenteral and Devices Network (PDN) knowledge management process for the integration layer.
The position will be responsible to work with the local automation project teams and other global teams responsible for Global Manufacturing Systems (MES, EWM, ATTP, Robotics) with emphasis on Device Assembly and Packaging (DAP) lines. The goal is to standardize solutions and expedite the deployment of control systems for the new DAP lines. This position will report to an Associate Director in Tech@Lilly – MQ.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$63,750 - $180,400
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). How You’ll Succeed
- Leverage your technical knowledge and experience to influence and harmonize process automation and integration solutions across all the new and existing manufacturing.
- Support the integration of the DAP network with the Tech@Lilly – MQ global Functional agenda (and vice-versa).
- Must assure Data Integrity management according to Lilly Policies.
- Support improvement, maintenance, and lifecycle activities for the existing integration layer.
- Must facilitate the effort to replicate technology solutions and harmonization of common business processes.
- Must provide centralized management of validation activities in alignment with Lilly Computer System Validation (CSV) policies for systems in the PA Integration Layer, including incidents and changes in Service Now.
- Must be able to work across organizational boundaries to ensure alignment and leverage enterprise patterns and services.
While this is not a solution developer role the ideal candidate will be familiar with many of the following concepts and technologies:
- Experience deploying and possibly developing corporate standard software solutions across a large organization.
- Experience providing technical guidance to other members of the organization, including developers, project managers, and technical support staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and articulate complex technical concepts.
- Experience with Computer System Validation, data integrity, batch review by exception.
- Experience with technologies like OPC, OPC UA, MQTT, Relational Databases
- Experience deploying micro-service architectures
- Experience deploying containerized software solutions
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
- Experience with HiveMQ
- Experience with Node JS
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering or related discipline.
- Working knowledge of automation equipment and HMI software
- 5 years of experience in automation in manufacturing or manufacturing related areas with most of that experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Prior experience on IT projects
- Prior experience in global projects in Pharma.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical knowledge in manufacturing operations.
- Fluent English
- Previous experience supporting drug product and packaging manufacturing operations for human health pharmaceuticals.
- Understanding of ISA-95 network infrastructure and internal DMZ
- Technology experience including Windows OS, Linux OS, Oracle SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Citrix, Kepware, ServiceNow.
- Experience maintaining Computer Systems Validation in line with pharmaceutical computer system quality regulations (e.g. cGMP’s, FDA 21 CFR Part 11) and other applicable regulations (e.g. privacy, OSHA, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams with a strong customer service focus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated and self-starter.
- Experience with manufacturing systems such as warehouse management, automated storage & retrieval, SAP, robotics.
- Previous experience with Agile or LEAN.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience working in a global organization.
- Global Role – Must be resident at a Lilly baseload manufacturing site, preferably Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Some travel will be required to other manufacturing sites and OEMs in Europe and/or US.
