Duties
- repair or replace locks on doors, safes, and other security devices.
- repair or replace car keys
- Manage store inventory
- Assess client needs and recommend appropriate locking solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance on locks to ensure optimal functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and inventory of locks and keys.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally.
Skills
- Proficiency in using locksmithing tools such as key cutters, picks, and drills.
- Familiarity with electronic locking systems and access control technology.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure precision in lock installations and repairs.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and providing clear explanations of services.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to locksmithing practices.
- Experience using an Ohmmeter for testing electrical components related to locking systems is a plus.
