Eliada Homes, a historical fixture within Western North Carolina since 1903, is one Asheville's longest running nonprofits. Our beautiful 300 acre campus provides a cradle to career continuum of services for over 600 children and youth annually. Child Development staff work with children up to 5 years of age providing them with services which focus on social, emotional, cognitive, and motor development while integrating life-skills into our daily activities and lessons.
Infant/Toddler Lead Teachers have the same job description as a Preschool Lead Teacher, but with a focus on Infants-Two's.
They assume primary role in designing and implementing activity plans, record-keeping, care and supervision of children in the classroom, communicating with parents and administrative staff, and delegates appropriate duties and responsibilities to teacher and teacher’s assistant.

Requirements
- Preschool Lead Teacher writes and implements daily/weekly lesson plans for children in classroom that are developmentally appropriate for the children in care.
- Preschool Lead Teacher ensures that children’s physical, emotional, and educational needs are met through close visual supervision and observation of group and one-on-one interactions with individual children.
- Preschool Lead Teacher assists the Director in devising service plans for children with special needs.
- Preschool Lead Teacher ensures that necessary classroom records/documents are kept current, organized, and on file.
- Preschool Lead Teacher ensures, through communication with administrative staff, that licensing, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained in the classroom.
Education/Experience: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood, or currently enrolled in this program, is required for this position. Comparable degrees include, but not limited to, Psychology, Social Work, and Elementary Education. Eliada Homes offsets all costs associated with needed childcare credentials!
