Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Respite and Residential Program Director, the Respite Cottage Supervisor provides overall management to and supervision of their assigned cottage units.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Provides programmatic oversight and leadership of the model of care and delivery of services in the cottage.
2. Works collaboratively with treatment team, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to child and family team meetings, and providing updates to guardians on a regular basis and as needed. Leading weekly treatment team meetings.
3. Ensures all required agency, and program documentation is completed and maintained within the agency, licensure, accreditation, and other standards in an accurate and timely manner.
4. Ensures the management and maintenance of the cottage facility within agency standards to include facility work orders to provide a healthy, safe and supportive environment for students. Manage the business requirements of the assigned respite unit(s) to include budgets, and agency reports.
5. Promote student success by developing positive relationships with students and working to understand students’ emotional and physical needs. Recognize student strengths and help connect students’ feelings to their behaviors to promote self-awareness and help guide students to making lasting change. Engage students in formal processing methods under the agency crisis intervention model to help understand how students can be better served.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Performs other administrative or programmatic duties as assigned by the Respite and Residential Program Director.
2. Provides coverage for on call responsibilities including serving as supervisor on-call for duties outside of coverage.
3. Additional duties include debriefing staff after incidents, general campus support, Cottage Supervisor meeting weekly.
4. Serves as a liaison to agency referral sources and other community resources and groups, and serves as designee to arrange respite care between the child’s family and EHI.
5. Displays competence and responsiveness to cultural differences present in both student and employee population.
6. Ensures the provision of quality services to students through participation in the agency's Performance and Quality Improvement process.
7. Delegates responsibilities as are feasible.
Reporting Responsibilities:
Position reports to: Respite and Residential Program Director
Position supervises: Team Lead, Respite Youth Mentor
Requirements
Qualifications:
Knowledge/Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; or high school graduate or equivalent with at least three years of experience in human service programming; QP status preferred. Previous supervisory experience required. A minimum of one year experience working with the student population in a residential/respite setting.

Skills/Physical/Working Conditions
Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License and be insurable by Eliada’s carriers. Must possess efficient computer skills. Must be able to train others. This position requires on-call responsibilities. Must complete all phases of the pre-service workshop, including physical restraint training including the ability to perform physical restraint techniques. Position may experience verbal and/or physical aggression from student population. Must demonstrate availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, emergencies, and extended periods of time.
