What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager (EHS) position at Elias Associates Inc?
This role will be based at a specialty chemical manufacturing facility that employs about 40 operators and 30-35 full-time site personnel (~70 total). This role will be responsible for all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety at the site with the primary focus of the position being on plant safety (PSM) and environmental compliance. This facility has been operating for 60 years and the current EH&S programming at this facility is adequate - what this company is looking for is for leadership in these areas; someone who can capably manage what is in place while implementing improvement and change over time. This role will have one direct report on Day 1, an EHS Coordinator, and there will quickly be an opportunity to hire an additional support person. This role will serve on the site leadership team and manage the operating budget for the EHS department. Travel for this position will be minimal. Relocation assistance is available.
Minimum Requirements :
- B.S. degree in Engineering or Science is required
- 5 years of EH&S experience out of a PSM-regulated industry (chemicals, refining, pharma ingredients, etc)
- Must have previous management experience (1 years)
- Should have experience with Environmental permitting (RCRA) and OSHA reporting
