Fortune 500 company seeks a Safety Specialist for their Detroit facility.
SafetySpecialist will be responsible for providing leadership and counsel and acting as an effective facilitator to influence the development of a proactive approach to safety and health. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations.
Responsibilities :
- Act as a coach and mentor to managers in Safety leadership and assist them in executing their Safety responsibilities.
- Develop site-specific safety procedures to effectively implement the Health and Safety Management Systems program to drive injury and fatality prevention.
- Conduct safety reviews by providing technical expertise in the FPT Health and Safety program, protocols, and criteria.
- Complete monthly safety meetings and certification training at sites within Michigan. May be required to travel to other states to provide these services.
- Provide technical expertise and participate in injury / incident investigations to identify root cause analysis and provide recommendations to prevent a recurrence.
- Maintain technical expertise and counsel management on applicable Local, State, Federal, and Corporate Health and Safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
