Backend Software / Cloud Security Engineer (IaaC / Java / Cybersecurity) - DALLAS TEXAS AREA

This team is looking for someone who can hit the ground running with passion for cyber security, DevSecOps, and securing cloud technologies through performant Java code. Role will be hybrid, all candidates MUST be either local to TX, or be ready to relocate ASAP and work on site / start with a 2 weeks notice and be committed to relocating to work on site in TX

Rate: $55 - $68 / hr. w2

Key Responsibilities:

• Trailblaze, develop, and implement security applications and platforms securely at scale and set new security standards as we dawn a new digital age
• Collaborate with teams to integrate security into everyday operations and help transition to an "Automation first" approach to ensure robust security across cloud native architectures
• Contribute to the development of modern APIs and microservices.
• Mentor and grow with a team of passionate security engineers.

Experience Requirements

5-10 years of progressive experience within AWS/Java/Security, details below:

MUST HAVE:

1) AWS: SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB

2) AWS Cloud Security: AWS IAM, KMS, and Secrets Manager

3) Policy Control framework experience (I.E. OPA, XACML)

4) Ability to code "Fullstack" - we don't care about the front end language but you'll need strong OOP and IaaC (preference for a mix of either Java with either Python/GoLang/Terraform/Cloudformation

5) Must have strong understanding of CICID, including proven experiences developing pipelines / automation via Jenkins / Dropwizard / Jetty as it pertains to REST API development/deployment

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5-10 years of programming experience in Java, Python, or Go and experience tackling complex challenges / building innovative solutions.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, particularly AWS, must be able to help streamline development / deployment pipelines
• Proficient in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation is a must, we want not just an OOP engineer but a cloud powerhouse
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins are strongly desired (or equivalent tooling stack related to security / java / et cetera)
• Familiarity with frameworks like Dropwizard and Jetty for building APIs.
• Understanding of cloud security tools and services (e.g., AWS IAM, KMS) and an ability to master new technologies, and share expertise to help mentor others while constantly challenging yourself to grow / shape the next generation of digital capabilities, digital "nomads" and other engineers / professionals
• Experience with policy control frameworks like OPA or XACML, we would like to hire someone who can develop tools / platforms to a high standard, what you're building will be used across multiple applications and by multiple developers
• Strong communication skills and experience in Agile environments - come ready to leave a legacy, use tools like JIRA, and ensure others you're ready to adapt and ready to thrive whether the day is fast paced... or if it's another sprint planning session / code freeze until the following day or week, be mindful of the red tape but come ready with solutions when you can
