Description :

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior API Test Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with Product Managers (PMs) and developers to develop OpenAPI specifications, prepare tests for these specifications, and deploy mock services with basic tests in place before any development begins. This role is crucial in transitioning our current manual testing processes to a fully automated testing framework.

Rate : $60 - $70 / hr. w2

Responsibilities :

Collaborate with Product Managers and development teams to design and develop OpenAPI specifications.

Prepare and implement test cases for OpenAPI specifications to ensure comprehensive coverage.

Deploy mock services with basic tests in place to facilitate early testing and validation of API specifications.

Analyze existing Postman tests, identify opportunities for automation, and implement automated testing solutions.

Develop and maintain automated test scripts to ensure efficient and reliable testing processes.

Work towards automating all manual tests to improve efficiency and reduce testing time.

Continuously improve and optimize the automated testing framework and processes.

Provide documentation and training to team members on automated testing practices and tools.

Experience Requirements :

Proven experience in API testing and automation.

Strong understanding of OpenAPI specifications and related tools.

Proficiency in using Postman for API testing and experience in automating Postman tests.

Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) and YAML pipelines, particularly in an Azure environment.

Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into the development workflow.

Experience with mock service deployment and testing.

Knowledge of programming languages commonly used in test automation, such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.

Education Requirements :

• Bachelors degree

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
