The Senior Security Operations Engineer (SOC Operations III) is a pivotal role within our organization, requiring deep expertise in Security Operations Center (SOC) architecture, engineering, incident response, and emerging threat support. This senior position is responsible for leading the design and implementation of SOC operations, ensuring the organization's security infrastructure is robust, effective, and resilient against evolving threats. The role demands a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities to guide and mentor the SOC team, manage complex security incidents, and develop proactive strategies to address emerging threats.



Rate: $48 - $55 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• SOC Architecture and Engineering:
  • Design and implement comprehensive SOC architecture and engineering solutions to enhance security posture.
  • Develop and maintain SOC strategies that align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Incident Response:
  • Lead and manage complex security incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Develop and refine incident response plans and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Emerging Threat Support:
  • Stay informed on emerging threats and vulnerabilities, and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.
  • Provide surge support during high-threat periods, ensuring the SOC is prepared to handle increased activity.
• Leadership and Team Development:
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to SOC team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Lead projects and initiatives to enhance SOC capabilities and effectiveness.
• SOC Operations and Maintenance:
  • Oversee SOC tool engineering, architecture, and strategy to ensure optimal performance and alignment with security objectives.
  • Manage SOC tool maintenance and platform/infrastructure operations to ensure reliability and availability.

Experience Requirements:

• Expertise in SOC architecture, engineering, incident response, and emerging threat support.
• Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and strategic planning abilities, with a focus on aligning security initiatives with business objectives.
• Proficiency in SOC tool engineering, architecture, strategy, maintenance, and operations.
• 7-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on SOC operations and management.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
