Senior Kafka Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Hiring for someone to assist in developing software using innovative frameworks. We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer who has experience developing Java applications, Kafka ecosystems, and is capable of developing enterprise applications for large enterprise platforms.

Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $58 - $63 / hr. w2

Responsibilities

• Able to work in an Agile software delivery environment, with exposure to continuous integration and continuous delivery tools, able to learn, adapt, and embrace new concepts / technologies and scale and implement quickly
• Passion for clean, maintainable code and are always looking to improve your engineering skills in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Able to build positive relationships and mentor others through understanding of fundamental design principles for building a modular and scalable platform.
• Must have strong communication skills, problem solving skills, highly professional attitude, and excellent verbal and written communication.

Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8 years of experience developing multi-tier distributed application preferred.
• Expert level knowledge of REST API development
• Proven expertise MQ /Kafka technology to develop and support data ingestion services
• Experience in developing applications that use multi-threaded processing.
• Familiarity using financial messaging protocols like FIX is a HUGE PLUS.
• Strong software experience in developing and a proven track record of delivering full-stack cloud-based applications utilizing tools like GIT workflow, code check-ins/review, and DevOps and CICD tools such as Jenkins, TerraCore, Concourse, Docker, UDeploy, et cetera
• Demonstrated expertise in various relational and non-relational database technologies (ideally MongoDB/Redis/Aerospike/DynamoDB) and Oracle RDBMS
• Experience in UI Development with technologies like Angular, React and others is a huge plus.

REQUIREMENTS:

Srong software development and test automation skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve customer-facing software solutions.

Able to work on migration/modernization of a platform to the cloud/messaging service (TIBCO to Kafka)

--> Advanced Core Java/Spring Boot

-->MUST HAVE Asynchronous processing experience

-->MUST HAVE Advanced multi-thread programming

--> Strong messaging experience with Kafka or related messaging service (processing 300 million messages a day)

--> AWS, Financial services experience / trading application experience STRONGLY desired
