We are seeking a Systems Administrator with a strong blend of Asset Management (70%) and Desktop Support (30%) expertise. This role will be a key part of a two-person service desk team supporting the Washington, DC office, which hosts 20-50 employees on a rotating basis. The ideal candidate will bring technical desktop support skills, hands-on asset management experience, and strong problem-solving abilities to the team.

Rate: $50 - $55 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:
Asset Management (70%)
- Oversee hardware/software asset lifecycle, ensuring accurate tracking, compliance, and cost management
- Maintain asset inventory and coordinate with vendors for procurement, renewals, and contract management
- Assist in developing a structured approach to software license management and spending
Desktop Support (30%)
- Provide end-user technical support for Windows, Mac, and Linux environments
- Manage user accounts in Active Directory, O365, and Azure AD
- Troubleshoot issues related to desktop, software, and system configurations
- Handle ticketing requests via JIRA Service Management (Atlassian)
- Image and deploy laptops (Windows/Linux) and provide basic troubleshooting support
- Ensure smooth IT operations for the DC office, with occasional remote collaboration with other sites
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in IT support, asset management, or systems administration
- Strong software asset management experience
- Experience with Windows, Mac, and Linux environments (Mac is <10% of users)
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, O365 - they work with Azure AD and Intune as well so those are a plus
- Knowledge of ticketing systems (JIRA preferred) and troubleshooting processes
- Ability to troubleshoot end-user issues, manage tickets, and escalate when needed
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a small, tight-knit team
- Vendor management experience is a plus but not required
Education:
- 5-10 years of professional experience
