Our client, an industry leader in medical device manufacturing, has an excellent opportunity for a Test Engineer to work on a 9 month contract opportunity. Work will be on-site in San Diego, CA. The Test Engineer will be responsible for supporting the testing, analysis, and validation of medical device products throughout their life cycle. Your expertise in critical thinking, communication, and measurement tools will ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $35 - $42 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:
Perform testing throughout all product realization phases, ensuring all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Analyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement, and use these insights to enhance product performance.
Prepare detailed test reports, including documentation of test results, analysis, and recommendations for product improvements.
Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes and methodologies to ensure efficiency and accuracy in all test activities.
Review product requirements and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to provide valuable feedback to design teams regarding testability and potential risks.
Participate in the design of scalable test methods, the creation of appropriate test fixtures, and the validation of test methods.
Create and maintain documentation such as test protocols, test reports, equivalency justifications, and procedures to ensure traceability and compliance with standards.
Define and develop sampling plans in accordance with the risk management process to ensure appropriate test coverage.
Conduct peer reviews of data analysis and test documentation to ensure quality and consistency across the team.
Participate in the design transfer process by verifying test methods, facilitating the transition to sustain engineering teams, and ensuring test method consistency.
Collaborate with external lab partners for outsourced activities, such as environmental and mechanical stress testing.
Experience Requirements:
The ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes, and make decisions that enhance product quality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and document findings clearly and concisely.
Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members, design engineers, and external partners.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience with HMP (High-Performance Measurement Systems) and Matlab for data analysis and modeling.
Experience using standard measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, force gauges, etc.) for accurate data collection and analysis.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, with a preference for Mechanical, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
