What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vulnerability Assessment Analyst (SOC II) position at Eliassen Group?

The Security Operations II role is a critical position within our cybersecurity team, focusing on advanced cyber threat intelligence and vulnerability assessment. This role is responsible for identifying and assessing vulnerabilities within the organization's systems and providing strategic recommendations for mitigation. The successful candidate will work closely with IT and security teams to enhance the organization's overall security posture.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Public Trust clearance.
Rate: $37 - $47 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced threat intelligence and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security risks.
- Analyze and report on security vulnerabilities and threats, providing detailed documentation and recommendations.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks, ensuring the protection of organizational assets.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to enhance security measures and improve the organization's security posture.
- Provide onsite and remote vulnerability assessment capabilities as a sustained, full-time program, independent of incident detection, recovery, or reporting activities.
- Perform full-knowledge, open-security assessments of general support systems, major/minor applications, and Internet-facing websites.
- Work with system owners and administrators to examine the security architecture and vulnerabilities of their systems through security scans, system configuration reviews, system design documentation analysis, and interviews.
- Utilize network and vulnerability scanning tools, as well as invasive technologies, to interrogate systems for configuration and status.
- Deliver comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment Reports of Findings, including recommended remediation strategies.
Experience Requirements:
- Advanced skills in cyber threat intelligence and vulnerability assessment.
- Strong analytical and research skills to effectively identify and assess security threats.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities to convey complex security issues to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using network and vulnerability scanning tools.
- 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on vulnerability assessment and threat intelligence.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
- CompTIA Pentest .
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
