WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Dental Clinic Assistant Manager is responsible to help assist the Dental Clinic Manager with coordinating the day to day functions of the operational office duties for the dental clinic. The Assistant Clinic Manager helps to provide support and guidance to the front office staff as needed to ensure efficiency and workflow of the dental clinic. In absence of a Dental Clinic Manager, the Assistant Clinic Manager exercises appropriate decision making duties as needed. The Dental Assistant Clinic Manager is a key team member ensuring the patient receives their needed and wanted dentistry. The Dental Assistant Clinic Manager is responsible for ensuring that patients receive all information required for dental appointments including; scheduling appointments, insurance verification, preparing treatment plans for future dental care, as well as addressing any patient concerns. Additionally, the Dental Assistant Clinic Manager will assist with answering phone calls, greeting patients, and maintaining office appearance.

Requirements
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The successful candidate will be willing and able to:
- Assists with coordinating the day-to-day clinical functions to provide excellent and efficient service to patients
- Provides front office leadership to assure that the dental clinic operates smoothly and effective procedures are in place
- Assists with new employee and developmental training for front office staff
- Works with the dental clinic manager to present clinic staff ideas and concerns
- Participates and advises in personnel matters relating to the dental clinic staff with the Dental Clinic Manager
- Effectively fill daily appointment schedules, optimizing each dental provider’s day maximizing their personal ability, support staff, and physical resources
- Adhere to standards and best practices related to appointment confirmation cadence including phone calls and other electronic communication tools to ensure a predictive and productive schedule
- Ensures any Medical clearance forms or specialty reports required are received prior to patient appointment
- Coordinate fees and insurance benefits for patients
- Create accurate financial estimates for each patient on their dental treatment plan
- Utilize available financial options to give patients choices for how they can pay
- Properly use patient account software and maintain accuracy in records related to patient financials; Obtain necessary insurance approvals in a timely manner
- Discuss recommended plans with patients to ensure patient understanding and agreement
- Prepare all necessary paperwork for each patient’s visit according to standards and best practices
- Greets patients upon arrival to the dental clinic and check in for scheduled appointments
- Registers new patients, helping to assist with completion of all necessary forms and documentation according to each patient’s individual needs
- Collects and post accurate payments into the patient account software
- Timely processing of referrals to facilitate proper patient care
- Communicates with patients about any dental concerns including treatment plans, cost of treatment and appointment scheduling
- Ensures patient compliance with dental office procedures and policy
The successful candidate has:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in dental setting with Supervisor or training experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job will be considered.
- Previous experience in a community health center or FQHC preferred
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is a plus!
- Current BLS certified
- Experience with EHR/Schedule Systems required, EPIC Wisdom preferred
- Knowledge of with dental terminology and government (Medi-Cal) and non-government payers for dental insurances.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace software
Additional Requirements
- Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The work environment is characteristic of a dental clinic environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Compensation - Dependent Upon Experience
$28.00 - $36.40 an hour
