WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Medical Scribe will be working one-on-one with a single provider in a small family medicine clinic. A medical scribe is on the frontline of healthcare, serving as an integral member of the care team. The scribe does not perform direct patient care, but does serve as the documentation specialist in real-time during patient encounters.

Requirements
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The successful candidate will be willing and able to:
- Perform pre-charting as necessary, including pulling from patient’s medical history, lab results, prior appointments, etc.
- Accompany the healthcare provider in the patient examination rooms in order to transcribe the patient’s history, physical exam findings, consultation, lab results, X-ray interpretation, and other evaluations as needed by the provider, directly into the medical record
- Provide advanced support to providers, including communicating with the provider in regards to patient care as needed
The successful candidate has:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, usually gained via coursework in medical terminology, anatomy, and/or physiology
- Previous medical scribing experience (Preferred)
- Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) setting, preferred.
- Familiarity with programs related to Community Health Centers/FQHCs.
- Electronic Health Record experience, especially EPIC
- Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS
- Must be able to independently travel to assigned locations
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
The work environment is characteristic of a medical clinic environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Compensation Dependent Upon Experience -
$18.00 - $23.40 per hour
