Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate ICU Staff Nurse to join our Cancer Care Unit. In this role, you will provide critical care to cancer patients in a fast-paced and supportive environment. You will work alongside a team of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care during the most critical stages of their treatment and recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to cancer patients in the ICU, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing complex medical conditions.
- Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, and other medical staff to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Ensure patients are closely monitored for any changes in condition and respond to critical situations with urgency and professionalism.
- Advocate for the needs of cancer patients and their families, providing education and emotional support throughout their care journey.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure a collaborative and positive care experience.
- Administer critical care treatments and therapies, including pain management, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform assessments, document care, and contribute to patient care discussions during rounds.
- Uphold hospital policies and protocols, including infection control and safety standards.
- Foster a supportive and caring environment for patients and their families, ensuring all needs are met with empathy and respect.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably with cancer or critical care patients
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to care for critically ill patients, especially in oncology settings
- Excellent customer service skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick, sound decisions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; oncology certification preferred
