What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director-Lynn Low Threshold Housing position at Eliot Community Human Services?
Eliot’s Homeless Services Division is seeking a creative/strengths-based/trauma informed Assistant Director to oversee 3 BSAS funded Low Threshold/Low Barrier Sites in the Northshore area. This innovative model will house individuals experiencing street homelessness and will include an array of supportive services including onsite recovery coaching, MAT/Psychiatry, wrap around case management & clinical coordination, RN consultation and direct interventions, and access to trauma focused modalities of treatment. This role will report to the Division Director of Homeless Services.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee general operations and support service provision at respective Low Threshold Site.
- Provide real time guidance and support to milieu, security, and clinical staff.
- Provide weekly individual supervision to all milieu staff, as well as guidance and training to security personnel as needed/assigned.
- Promote hope, empowerment and recovery in all aspects of care. Model professional behavior for staff and promote use of trauma-informed and empowering language and interventions.
- Oversee staff and security scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage for the program.
- Serve as a part of an afterhours on call rotation for the Low Threshold sites as assigned.
- Facilitate weekly house meetings with residents to obtain feedback related to programming, disseminate important information, and to also plan recreational/educational/support service events for the site.
- Ensure timely collection and submission of all data necessary for BSAS, DPH and Agency reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work or counseling and three years relevant experience in the mental health/substance use field. Master’s Degree in the Healing Arts or BA in Nursing preferred.
- Will consider candidates with substantial lived or professional experience without a degree on a case by case basis.
- Demonstrated knowledge of substance use disorders, harm reduction, homelessness, dual diagnosis and Evidence Based Practices.
- Must possess exemplary leadership skills and ability to provide effective real time guidance and support to employees.
- Must have skills to establish supportive and highly collaborative relationships with persons with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders and respect for their preferences for treatment.
- Ability to assess client support systems and protective factors and support them in their transition to housing. Knowledge of Public Entitlements (EAEDC, Social Security, Food stamps, etc.,) and other resources is required.
- Ability to use good judgment and work with minimal supervision a must.
- Ability to engage homeless clients and assist with a variety of support services.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, full time 40 hours per week
Location: Lynn, MA
Salary: 60k-65k/annually
