This event aims to connect candidates with roles that support youth rehabilitation and development, ensuring a safe and constructive environment.
Event time and Date:
A virtual event Thursday the 13th from 9am-5pm
Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor youth in various settings, ensuring adherence to program guidelines and safety protocols.
Conduct case management activities, including assessments, planning, and monitoring the progress of youth.
Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage with youth effectively and foster positive behavioral changes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers and law enforcement, to develop comprehensive support plans for each individual.
Implement conflict management strategies to resolve disputes and promote a harmonious atmosphere among participants.
Maintain accurate documentation of interactions, progress notes, and incident reports as required by program standards.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills relevant to juvenile justice practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in supervising youth or working within juvenile justice settings is preferred.
- Strong background in case management with an understanding of rehabilitative practices.
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques is highly desirable.
- Military experience or training may be beneficial in understanding discipline and structure.
- A degree in social work, criminal justice, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
- Relevant certifications related to juvenile justice or social work are a plus.
