What are the responsibilities and job description for the Juvenile Justice Youth Advocate I position at Eliot Community Human Services?
Eliot is seeking energetic, positive, service-oriented individuals to work in a secure setting with adolescents in the Department of Youth Services' care. This position provides a great opportunity to positively impact and influence a young adult's life by being a supportive and nurturing caregiving adult. The role is multifaceted and includes teaching, limit setting, advocating, coordinating treatment, and being a positive adult role model. Work as part of a dedicated team to make a difference in a child's life.
Responsibilities:
- Daily coordination of direct-care staff and youth in executing the plan of the day in accordance with program, DYS, DEEC and ECHS policies and procedures
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individual Service Plans
- Attend staff and shift change meetings and training as required
- Facilitate or assign lead of daily groups
- Assist in securing community service opportunities and activities
- Submit timely, complete, legible, and accurate documentation as required
- Safely transport residents to activities, appointments, school, work, and visits
- Conduct documented supervision of Group Care Workers and youth
Qualifications:
- Minimum age 21
- Valid Driver's License
Multiple shifts available - must be able to work weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.76 per hour
