What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Coach position at Eliot Logo?
Eliot’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) in Everett and Lynn are searching for two Bi lingual Recovery Coaches to empower mental health and substance abuse clients to exercise autonomy in all aspects of their life. The goal of Eliot’s CCBHC is to expand the impact of evidence-based treatments for underserved populations in the Everett and Lynn areas. Eliot’s CCBHC is a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nurses, case managers, triage specialists, recovery coaches, and peer specialists focused on team-based care that is provided regardless of individuals' insurance status.
The ideal candidate will be bilingual and have the ability to provide flexible services that are community based and focused on team work. They must be receiving mental health and/or substance use services or received services in the past and have the self-knowledge to manage their illness with an established recovery process.
Responsibilities:
- Provide side by side interventions to individuals that focus on problem solving, skills training, modeling behavior, optimism and encouragement.
- Assist individuals with being able to identify personal methods of recovery from substance use and to develop self-management plans to address their experiences.
- Assist individuals in accessing substance abuse services and supports.
- Promote and encourage individuals to engage in harm reduction strategies to manage their experience of substance use and abuse.
- Promote hope and empowerment through meetings and support with individuals.
- Provide information and training on recovery tools and techniques, self-management strategies, and, if desired, assistance developing a self-management plan.
- Assist individuals in being fully integrated in their communities by supporting them in the use of community resources, encouraging them in establishing memberships within their communities, and reducing stigma within the community through education. Assist individuals who have experienced social stigmatization with their sense of acceptance and affiliation.
- Assist individuals in accessing self-help and advocacy groups or related resources. Provide information and training on recovery tools and techniques, self-management strategies as appropriate.
- Participate in on-call on a rotating basis with the entire CCBHC team.
- Participate in daily Team Huddles and Team Meetings.
- Provide third-party billable Recovery Coaching Services as needed and clinically appropriate.
- Assist the team and individuals in providing on-going assessment of symptoms and responses to staff interventions.
- Complete service notes related to all contacts with individuals and collaterals on the day of contact
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and at least one year of paid or volunteer experience working with adults with mental illness and/or substance abuse.
- May substitute six months of experience with a college degree in the human services field.
- Must be receiving mental health and/or substance use services or received services in the past and have self-knowledge to manage their illness with an established recovery process.
- Must have a strong commitment to substance use recovery.
- Must enroll and attend Recovery Coach Certification Program and obtain Certification.
