What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Intervention Mental Health Specialist position at Eliot?
Responsibilities:
- Identify, screen, and evaluate performance of children using standard measures.
- Provide intervention in the areas of cognition, psychosocial development, and family systems issues.
- Provide transdisciplinary service to families and children enrolled in the program.
- Develop and ensure follow-up to treatment goals in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). Plans are developed in accordance with the requirements of the funding source, sound clinical practice, and in collaboration with the family.
- Utilize a team approach to treatment planning and service delivery with other staff members, family members, physicians, and agencies.
- Generate assessment reports, IFSP’s, progress notes, and insurance verification reports within established timelines.
- Provide in-service training to other team members within areas of expertise.
- Maintain client records in accordance with DPH and ECHS protocols.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in either Counseling Psychology or Developmental Psychology or Educational Psychology.
- Experience in infancy/early childhood preferred.
- Meets third party and Department of Public Health, Early Intervention Program regulations criteria.
- Must have good clinical documentation skills and be able to meet deadlines.
- Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
- Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation to travel to and with families in order to provide services in natural environments.
Schedule: M-F, 9am-5pm
Location: Medford, Malden, Everett.
Salary: $55,000
