Controller

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the organization's growth. Additionally, the Controller will provide leadership and support to the finance department.

Essential Duties

• Manage all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Establish, implement, and maintain internal controls and formal policies, procedures, and training documents in accordance with company best practices.
• Oversee accounts receivable processes to ensure timely collection and accurate reporting.
• Responsible for accounts payable processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Lead corporate accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliation and account analysis.
• Prepare and present monthly financial statements and reports to senior management and clients.
• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure adherence to public accounting standards.
• Provide insights on financial concepts to support decisionmaking across departments.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance financial operations and reporting efficiency.
• Oversee trust accounting operations and reporting.
• Lead accounting team, including determining staffing needs, leading recruiting efforts, completing new hire onboarding, and provide continuous feedback to aid in employee growth
  
  

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 Years of progressive experience in financial management, with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles.
• 5 Years of experience in Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is highly desirable.
• Experience in the aviation industry is desirable but not required.
• Experience working in a remote environment in a similar role desirable but not required.
  
  

Certifications and License

• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to pass required background & security screening, as appropriate

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and general ledger reconciliation.
• Indepth knowledge of compliance requirements and public accounting practices.
• Exceptional organization skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
• Ability to interact with professionalism and discretion with clientele.
• Must be able to work independently and problem solve issues as they arise.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
