Position Summary

The Flight Instructor is responsible for providing a superior training experience, with an absolute focus on safety for every flight. The Flight Instructor is the face of Elite Aircraft Services, providing not only technically accurate & safe training, but also an exceptional service experience for every Elite Aircraft Services client & student.

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft on every flight per FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) checklists, Elite Aircraft Services Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Cirrus guidelines & resources, and industryaccepted Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
  • Collaborates with various departments within the organization to ensure the best experience for the student.
  • Serve as the primary pilot & instructor for FAR Part 61 & 91 training flights.
  • Greets clients preflight, makes introductions and briefs them on the specific training objectives, verifies lesson plan accuracy, completes safety briefings, and provides updates & explains any required changes to the objectives, and completes postflight documentation.
  • Must load and properly stow on aircraft all personal items, as needed.
  • Act as the final authority on the aircraft with respect to all areas of operation, including compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
  • Acts as a liaison between clients & Elite Aircraft Services, from the time they arrive at the airport for training until the lesson has concluded & they leave the airport.
  • Responsible for properly communicating any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to Elite Aircraft Services via practices and procedures in place at the time of submission, and complete any paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies noted.
  • Fiduciary duty to see that sound safety and financial decisions are made with regards to all operations of the aircraft while under their control.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • College degree preferred
  • Proficient computer skills (including flight activity applications, scheduling systems)

Certifications and Licenses

  • Must possess an FAA Commercial Pilot certificate, with airplane singleengine land and instrument rating privileges
  • Must possess an FAA Certified Flight InstructorAirplane certificate, with Instrument Instructor privileges
  • Must have a valid passport & authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to pass required background & security screening, as appropriate
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Specialized Training

  • 500 hours total flight time experience, or
  • 100 hours crosscountry (>50 NM) flight time
  • 35 hours fixedwing pilotincommand experience
  • 50 hours of night flying
  • 25 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated inflight, excludes simulator time)
  • Current FAA SecondClass Medical Certificate
  • Satisfactory completion of aircraftspecific training, as appropriate

  • Proficient in English

  • Must be able to work varying hours including days and nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to manage his or her rest in order to be prepared for flight duty at all eligible times.
  • Must have a neat, wellgroomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression, including a strong capability to effectively interact with customers.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment

  • Indoors and outdoors.
  • All season.
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Overnight travel is possible.
