The Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring all properties adhere to Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as company standards. This role involves attending inspections, managing compliance-related tasks, and working closely with property managers to maintain legal and operational requirements. The Compliance Specialist will play a key role in ensuring rental properties meet safety, permit, and occupancy standards while maintaining professional communication with tenants and local authorities.
Requirements:Duties and responsibilities
? Attend required Federal, State, and Local inspections, ensuring properties meet all regulations. ? Identify and resolve code violations, obtain permits, and coordinate with inspectors. ? Attend lockouts and lock change appointments with constables. ? Deliver eviction notices and address tenant non-compliance issues. ? Install life safety equipment as needed during inspections. ? Conduct and document Rent Ready and High Water Consumption inspections. ? Complete assigned rental corrections to maintain habitability. ? Perform minor maintenance repairs or corrections onsite during inspections, or as needed ? Accurately record all inspections, compliance tasks, and tenant interactions in AppFolio. ? Communicate compliance issues and necessary actions to the Property Manager. ? Address compliance-related repairs, troubleshoot issues, and manage work order materials. ? Maintain courteous interactions with tenants, property owners, and officials. ? Manage property keys securely. ? Be available for on-call duties as assigned. ? Complete other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications
? Valid Driver’s License ? High School diploma and/or GED ? Minimum of 1 year experience in the construction field with a background in general maintenance ? General knowledge and understanding of building principles, property maintenance codes, worker safety regulations (OSHA), home construction ? Knowledge of basic math skills ? Must possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure ? Self-starter with a positive attitude, and ability to manage own schedule and comfortable working in a fast paced environment ? Ability to provide exceptional customer service that aligns to the company values ? Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment and exercise independent thought to challenges and improve the status quo ? Must possess necessary tools needed for property management maintenance ? Proper use and basic maintenance of hand, power tools and equipment ? Ability to interact with a variety of personnel in a busy work environment ? Exhibit strong attention to detail ? Must possess an unwavering commitment to foster a safe and event-free work environment ? Must possess good communication skills and maintain professionalism at all times when interacting with clients, coworkers and the community, including while driving a company vehicle
