Full Job Description:
A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing ongoing support for the individuals served by Elite Disability Services of Nebraska (EDS). They are tasked with a variety of duties related to the overall care of individuals with developmental disabilities who attend our Community Speaks and Art You programs. These programs focus on community partnerships, socialization, going into the community with a purpose, music culinary, and arts. DSP’s are also entrusted with providing exemplary services to both the individual served and their guardian(s), if applicable, and daily documentation of all support provided.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the development and ongoing revisions to Individual Program Plans by providing thoughtful input and information
- Role model for individuals in services.
- Monitor the individual(s)’ level of engagement to help determine the effectiveness of the habilitation program being run
- Document and recommend to the Area Director any action necessary to help overcome any barriers/impediments to the individual(s) served success
- Maintain accurate records and enter supporting documentation in Therap daily
- Assist Program Supervisor in completing Annual Assessments on individual(s) served
- Maintain current First Aid and CPR certification
- Administer medication as per the individual’s served physician instructions
- Respond to crises in accordance with policy and training
- Transport individual(s) served, when necessary, using EDS vehicles or personal vehicle.
- Make decisions based upon training received by EDS in accordance with our mission
- All other duties as assigned by direct supervisor

Qualifications/Education:
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the human service field (developmental disabilities, social work, counseling/guidance, human development, nursing facility, mental health or a closely related human service field)
- Nebraska Medication Aide (preferred)
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
- Proof valid Driver’s License and good driving record
- Pass background checks (Central Registers for APS and CPS, National background Check and State Background Check)
- Satisfactory oral/written communication skills
- Basic math and computer skills
EDS will provide the following training: CPR/First Aid, Medication Aide, MANDT, Therap (documentation), Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation, and Orientation
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
