We are looking for a passionate, skilled, and energetic Group Fitness Instructor to join our coaching team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and is ready to inspire and lead members through dynamic, well-structured workouts.
Class Types at Elite Edge
- Elite Lower Body: Strength and plyometric-based workouts focused on lower body development and core stability using barbells, bands, kettlebells, and more.
- Elite Circuit Cardio: High-intensity circuit training that incorporates cardio machines (VersaClimbers, spin bikes, rowers) and functional tools like sleds, battle ropes, and med balls.
- Elite Upper Body: Resistance training for a stronger, more functional upper body, utilizing a wide range of training equipment.
- Elite HIIT: Turf-based high-intensity interval training using speed equipment, agility ladders, overspeed trainers, and more.
- Elite Extreme: Full-body, competitive HIIT-style class combining strength, cardio, and athletic performance training.
- Elite Mix: A fun, challenging rotation of our signature formats including bootcamp, upper/lower split training, and cardio endurance.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, energetic, and safe fitness classes.
- Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate all fitness levels.
- Develop strong rapport with members, creating a motivating and inclusive class culture.
- Offer guidance on form, technique, and recovery.
- Keep the training space clean, organized, and ready for the next session.
- Use current, motivating, and appropriate music to elevate the energy of the class.
- Collaborate with team members to promote gym services and events.
- Opportunity to take on personal training clients as desired.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience instructing group fitness classes.
- CPR/AED certification.
- Certification from a nationally accredited organization (NASM, ACE, AFAA, ISSA, or similar).
- Strong ability to perform and demonstrate a wide variety of exercises.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Passion for fitness, community building, and helping others grow.
- Preferred: Received or in process of obtaining a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine or other related field.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lead classes involving dynamic movement, including lifting, running, jumping, crawling, and other athletic activities.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Must be able to perform exercises included in designed classes.
