Job Title: Seasonal Event Set Crew Member
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Seasonal Event Set Crew Member to join our team. This physically demanding role requires setting up and striking event structures such as tents, stages, lighting, and other event items. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. While event experience is preferred, we are willing to train individuals who show a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Setup & Breakdown: Assist with the setup, strike, and teardown of large event equipment, including tents, stages, sound and lighting systems, seating, and décor. Utilize tools and equipment such as ladders, forklifts, and hand trucks when needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work in close coordination with fellow crew members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard. Effective communication and teamwork are essential for smooth operations.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure the precise placement and alignment of all event items, with a focus on safety, aesthetics, and functionality. Perform safety checks on all equipment.
- Transporting Event Materials: Safely load and unload event materials from trucks and transport them to and from event locations.
- Maintenance of Equipment: Help maintain and organize event equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working condition. Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to management.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, using proper lifting techniques and ensuring the worksite is safe for the crew and other personnel.
- On-Site Support: Provide assistance during the event as required, including supporting event staff and troubleshooting minor issues.
Requirements:
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry heavy items (50 lbs) and be physically capable of handling demanding work conditions, including long hours and varying weather.
- Driving Ability: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicles (insurable driver, 21 years or older). Ability to transport equipment to event sites as required.
- Event Experience: Previous event experience is preferred but not required. A willingness to learn and adapt quickly is key.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professionalism: Must have a positive and professional demeanor, interacting well with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and follow directions for event setup and breakdown.
Desirable Skills:
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and event equipment.
