Growing Sioux Falls manufacturing company is seeking an Inventory Supervisor to manage the day to day operations and employees.
JOB SUMMARY:
Inventory Supervisor responsibilities include overseeing a team of inventory personnel. Supervisors will be responsible for delegating daily production work to team members while ensuring work is done to company standards. They will demonstrate and promote safe operation of all company tools and equipment. They are responsible for the performance of the assigned team to produce a quality product and foster continuous improvement environment. A supervisor shall be able to show leadership capabilities throughout the production line, be fluent in quality control procedures, and have strong communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide input to management regarding team selection and discipline.
- Manage, coach, and develop the receiving and inventory control team members.
- Assist in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor, evaluate, and possess working knowledge of equipment needs of the department including, but not limited to, forklifts, trailers, inventory yard materials to maximize operational efficiency, minimize downtime.
- Manage and complete Cycle Counting.
- Identify and resolve Inventory problems in a timely manner.
- Responsible for hiring, disciplining, and evaluating the performance of team members and leaders.
- Responsible for participating in Continuous Improvement.
- Incident Response and Reporting to Plant Manager.
- Incident investigation.
- Mentor Inventory 1 employees to achieve Inventory 2 and 3 qualifications.
- Perform Inventory 1, Inventory 2 and Inventory 3 work as required.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure that orders are completed on time.
- Maintains a high degree of integrity with regard to professional behavior, safety, organization, and cleanliness in inventory areas of operation.
- Maintaining a fully operational, safe, and tidy work environment.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- High safety considerations.
- Work irregular hours and overtime when required.

In performing these activities, the Supervisor is required to work under minimal supervision and exercise initiative and report any problems, which may result in customer dissatisfaction, loss of revenue or increased costs to company.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- 3 years experience working with inventory in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault testing equipment.
- Able to work a 10-hour shift standing/walking.
- Able to climb ladders repetitively.
- Able to bend, crouch, twist, pull.
- Able to lift/carry 70 lbs.
- Able to work in hot and wintry conditions as required.
TRAVEL, HOURS OF WORK, AND SUPERVISION:
This position normally requires the individual to be physically present at one or more location Monday through Friday but may occasionally be extended to Saturday as deemed necessary. This position may require occasional travel to site locations as deemed necessary. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Inventory.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Forklift certification.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma.
- Ability to learn new programs as needed, such as Fishbowl or Smartsheet.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
