Position Title: Driver – NEMT

Reports to: Operation Manager Rate: $18.50-21/HR

Nature and Scope: Elite Express Transportation is a rapidly growing, specialized public transportation company that has built its reputation in the industry with a strong focus on customer service, on-time performance, and continuous improvement. The applicant must have a neat appearance and a sincere desire to work with the general public, especially the elderly and people with disabilities.

Basic Function: the applicant must have or be able to obtain an appropriate driver’s license with applicable endorsements, including any state certifications. He/She must possess a driving record that meets company requirements and a reliable employment history with a strong attendance and punctuality record. Applicants must have 5 years of verifiable driving experience.

Essential Job Functions: The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the functions outlined below. Management retains the discretion to add to and/or change the duties of the position at any time.

• Report to work on time.
• Maintain a strong attendance record.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with any appropriate endorsements that may be required.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections as required.
• Drive in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the service area.
• Drive to be on time for scheduled pick up and drop offs.
• Must be able to reach forward, rearward, upward, and downward when operating the vehicle, performing vehicle inspections, and securing mobility devices.
• May be subject to wet, cold, and/or hot working environment.
• Deals with stressful situations occasionally and must always be prepared to handle them.
• Drivers can work with the public 95% of the workday and must present a professional image.

Key Performance Indicators: all drivers’ performance will be judged on attendance, and safety-related measures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Physical Demands: Drivers must be able to bend, twist, stoop, pull, and push while assisting passengers. Must be able to pass a DOT physical and DOT substance abuse pre-employment test.

Work Environment: This position is on the road driving, and outside in potential inclement weather. This would include cold, hot, rain, and humid temperatures.

License: Must hold a current driver’s license and maintain the qualifications to keep and renew the license when the appropriate date is due.

Background Criminal History: Must have a background check completed that meets the company requirements.

Pay: $18.50 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
