Clinical Optician Responsibilities
- Promptly be an extension of the doctor in exam rooms to complete patient EHR charts.
- Utilize direct recommendations from providers in examination for optical education and sales in a timely manner.
- Lead patients through the selection and fitting for lenses and frames.
- Interact directly with patients in dispensing and training them on the care and product quality of their new eyewear.
- Interface with patients on repairs and adjustments of frames
- Check in eyewear for patient notification while verifying that all lenses were correctly ordered and received.
- Lead patient inquiries in troubleshooting to resolve issues with selected eyewear or patient issues.
- Assemble and mount lenses into frames.
- Assist new contact lens wearers with training and education of how to properly insert and remove contact lenses.
- Educate on overall care and maintenance of contact lenses.
- Maintain an understanding of all accepted insurance plans and benefits.
- Ability to pull and timely file insurance on patient’s behalf.
- Collect all copayments, deductibles and fees due at the time of appointment.
- Run necessary reports at the close of each business day to reconcile cash drawer/credit card transactions and submit accurate report/deposit information to the Chief Operating Officer.
- Contribute to actively working on minimizing aging report as a team.
- Respond to tasks and patient inquiries within 24 hours.
- Provide other duties within your department, as well as other departments, as needed.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 34 per week
