Job Description

This is a rewarding position for an individual that loves to work with people, especially children, in order to improve their quality of life. A Technician completes all pretesting prior to evaluations, manages the schedule, completes billing, communicates with patients, pulls insurance, writes reports, and all other duties as assigned by management. These skills are necessary for a therapist to be able to teach patients how to coordinate their eyes to see single and in depth, to process the information coming from their eyes, and how to integrate that information with their other senses and motor movement. This person must be organized, dependable, compassionate, teachable, motivated and eager to learn.

Qualifications:

AA or BA/BS Desired

Previous experience in the optometric industry (including but not limited to: optician, optometric/ophthalmic technician, or additional positions within optometry), vision therapy, occupational therapy, or other medical rehabilitation fields is valuable, but not required.

Previous experience in teaching, education, and especially special education is valuable, but not required.

Must enjoy working with children. Experience/knowledge with ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and/or Sensory Processing Disorders is helpful.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 34 per week
