Elite Fire Safety is looking for great employees to join our team! As a leading provider of fire and life safety services in SE Michigan, Elite Fire Safety, a division of Sciens Building Solutions, specializes in the sales, installation, inspection, and service of fire alarm and fire suppression systems.
We are looking for entry level and experienced fire alarm & sprinkler technicians for our Inspection and Testing department. Technicians will receive a company smartphone, and tablet or laptop depending on the specific job requirements. Many of our clients are located in SE Michigan, so we are seeking candidates that could commute to this area.
An Inspection Technician is responsible for assisting in required routine inspection and testing, preventative maintenance, and documentation of Electrical and Mechanical components of Fire Alarm Systems, Portable Extinguishers, Automatic Sprinkler Systems, and Special Hazard Systems under the direct supervision of an Inspector.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Responsible for reviewing system layouts, and coordinating with the systems and service departments for a successful project execution.
- Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
- Responsible for inspecting and maintaining fire alarm systems.
- Produce detailed inspection and deficiency reports in accordance with NFPA.
- Responsible for delivering projects on schedule and within cost budgets.
- Responsible for logging and transmitting inspection reports via laptop computers.
- Oversight for project inventory and responsible for vehicle inventory.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the other inspectors.
- Customer-focused; skilled in project and people management.
- Ability to manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.
- Proficient in issue resolution.
- Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of fire industry.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
Qualified Candidates will be able to execute the following:
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service skill.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures .
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
- Able to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test.
