We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Diagnostic Imaging Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling diagnostic imaging appointments, verifying insurance, and ensuring patients receive timely and efficient service. You will collaborate with healthcare providers, radiology departments, and patients to coordinate procedures such as MRIs, CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule diagnostic imaging appointments based on physician referrals and patient needs.
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, and ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
- Provide patients with preparation instructions for imaging procedures.
- Answer patient inquiries regarding scheduling, insurance coverage, and procedure details.
- Coordinate with radiology departments and technicians to optimize appointment availability.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in the scheduling system.
- Handle cancellations, rescheduling, and urgent appointment requests efficiently.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in medical scheduling, radiology scheduling, or healthcare customer service preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to diagnostic imaging.
- Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorization processes.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software.
